Me-and-cooking

‘Cooking’-- Something that I always cherish and something that I keep on experimenting. I love how a little variation in a simple recipe transforms taste. Sometimes successful and sometime I do struggle, but it doesn't matters as long as I am happy and as long as it makes me happy.

With this small thought I plan to write it down to make taste travel across boundaries. From-my-kitchen-to your-kitchen.

Simple Chocolate cake

Nothing is good than a self-baked chocolate cake which is just perfect to suit your sweet levels. It also gives satisfaction that it is home made and fresh. This chocolate cake recipe is  so simple that it has never been tiring. All I need is some couple of ingredients and a good mood (of-course).

I have tried it on various occasions and it comes just perfect each time.

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups of all purpose flour
1 cup of granulated white sugar
1/4 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup warm water
1 tablespoon lemon juice (or vinegar)
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Method:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (177 degrees C).
In a bowl stir together the flour, sugar, sifted cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Add the melted butter, water, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. With a fork, mix all the ingredients together until well blended.

Transfer above mixture to a greased baking tray. Bake it in preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until the cake springs back when lightly pressed and a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean. Remove from oven and allow it to cool.

Add your favorite frosting and decorate it. I usually prefer applying mixture of walnut, almond and melted Cadbury chocolate (I like using dairy milk that is available in indian stores).

I hope you will try this and enjoy this yummy-cum-simple cake!!
